2024 Fourth of July fireworks & events set to take place in NCWV (2024)

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - It’s time to start making your Fourth of July plans!

A number of Fourth of July celebrations will be held in the North Central West Virginia area. The events we’ve been made aware of are listed below in chronological order. If you know of an event that’s not listed below, feel free to email us at news@wdtv.com.

Saturday, June 29th

  • The town of Rivesville’s Riverfront Festival Independence Day Celebration will take place from 4 to 10:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Park on Main Street. Games, activities, inflatables, vendors, food, drinks and live music will be available, and fireworks will take place at dark.
  • The Community Independence Day Celebration at the Barbour County Fairgrounds will begin at 10 a.m. and last all day ending with fireworks at dark. There will be an ATV race, yard games, live music and food vendors, as well!
  • Stonewall Resort in Lewis County will hold a variety of activities the weekend before the 4th with fireworks at dark. They’re free for guests of the resort to watch, and outside visitors will pay $10. Monday, July 1st

  • The city of Shinnston will hold their Independence Celebration Concert, featuring the Shinnston Community Band, at the Shinnston City Park at 8 p.m. Fireworks will follow!

Thursday, July 4th

  • The city of Weston will hold their annual 4th of July celebration presented by the city and the fire department. A parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. followed by a street fair from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Water Street.   • The city of Morgantown’s Independence Day Celebration will take place at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater. The celebration begins at 7 p.m. and features 10 to 12 local food trucks, free face painting and live music.   • The town of Fairview’s 4th of July celebration features a variety of events all day in the town’s park, such as a 5K run, craft show, parade, games, a car show, live music and a hot dog-eating contest.   • The town of Mannington will hold the grand opening of their renovated pool with a new splash zone from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free, and a firework display will take place at dark!
  • Doddridge County’s Red, White & Boom event will take place at the Doddridge County Park. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Friday, July 5th

  • The city of Buckhannon’s 4th of July celebration will coincide with Create Buckhannon’s Festival Fridays in Jawbone Park. Stonestreet will be playing live music, and fireworks will begin at dark.

Saturday, July 6th

  • The city of Thomas will hold their Mountaineer Days 4th of July Festival the Saturday after the 4th. There are a variety of activities offered during the festival, including a parade, a 5K, live music, food and crafts. The 67th annual fireworks display sponsored by the Thomas Volunteer Fire Department will follow at dark. A full schedule of events can be found at https://www.wvmountaineerdays.com/.
  • The city of Clarksburg will hold their Freedom at the Parks celebration at the Clarksburg Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. The event is free and sponsored by the Cultural Foundation, the City of Clarksburg and Clarksburg City Parks. A fireworks display will follow the concert at dark.
  • The city of Fairmont will hold their annual Independence Day Celebration at Palatine Park featuring Wanted: The Bon Jovi Tribute Band with special guest Motorcycle Drive-By and Flight Six-Six beginning at 6 p.m. A fireworks display will follow at dark.
  • Stonewall Resort in Lewis County will hold a variety of activities, including fireworks, the weekend after the Fourth, as well. They’re free for guests of the resort to watch, and outside visitors will pay $10. Saturday, July 13th

  • The town of White Hall will host a Community Music Event at the Middletown Commons at noon the week after the 4th. The Davisson Brothers Band will play live music, and there will also be vendors, food, bounce houses and more. A fireworks display will follow at dark.
